1. Why is this location important? Luella Collins Community Center is a beautiful indoor/outdoor venue that is open year round. Reservations and arrangements must be made to use the facility, which is open to the general public. Located in a wooded natural area on an inland lake. Large meeting and event spaces.
2. How do the resources shown in this photo help to tell the Byway’s story? The photograph shows the well-maintained facility’s rustic architecture. The Gun Lake Tribe is a big part of the Byway’s present and past history.
3. How is this resource linked to the other resources along the Byway? The Community Center is operated by the Gun Lake Tribe, which has several resources in the Byway. All Byway meetings were held at the Center.

The Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan is a federally recognized tribe of Potawatomi people in Michigan (also known as the Gun Lake Tribe). The Steering Committee is chaired by a representative of the Tribe.
