Food & Drink
Restaurants and bars are located throughout the Byway, but are concentrated in the two cities of Hastings and Wayland. Hastings has a downtown with many restaurants and the Byway leading to the downtown also has several food and drink establishments. Hasting’s downtown also has several food and drink establishments and the Byway between downtown and US-131 has many restaurants. Outside of the cities there are concentrations on M-179 in Yankee Springs Township on the boundary of the two counties. Additionally, along the western shore of Gun Lake there are several restaurants. The Village of Hopkins has a few dining facilities, and of course there is the Gun Lake Casino at the intersection of M-179 and US-131.
Lodging
There are few lodging facilities near the western and southern shores of Gun Lake. Hastings also has a few lodging facilities. Other parts of the Byway do not offer lodging unless vacation rentals are included, and there are several opportunities around the more major lakes in the Byway. Major lodging facilities exist both north (Grand Rapids) and south (Kalamazoo) of the Byway.
Camping
In addition to camping facilities operated by the State of Michigan, there are many private campgrounds within the Byway. Most of these facilities are near Gun Lake and Yankee Springs State Recreation Area.

Retail
Retail opportunities, including groceries are located in both of the cities. There are also limited retail opportunities throughout the Byway including a grocery on the southwest shore of Gun Lake and another near Yankee Springs State Recreation Area. Fuel is available in Wayland, Hastings, Yankee Springs Township, and at the interchange of M-179 and US-131. Other random retail opportunities are located throughout the Byway.
Golf
There are five golf courses located within the Byway.

Water
Many water-related businesses exist throughout the Byway including boat sales and service, and bait and tackle on the west side of Gun Lake; canoe and tube rentals in Hastings; and other similar businesses throughout the area.
